That’s why I curated 10 aesthetic travel story templates that do the heavy lifting for you. Each template was chosen for its visual appeal, ease of use, and versatility across different travel styles – from bustling cities to serene beaches. Whether you’re a solo backpacker or a luxury resort lover, these templates will make your feed look like a curated travel magazine. Ready to transform your travel stories? Let’s dive in.
Wanderlust Grid Template
The Wanderlust Grid is a classic 2×2 layout that lets you showcase four of your best travel snaps at once. Each cell has a subtle white border and a small text area for location names or dates. The background is a soft beige to keep the focus on your photos. Use it for a quick city overview: one shot of the skyline, one of local food, one of a landmark, and one candid moment. This template works perfectly as an aesthetic trip story template because it’s clean and minimal. Simply swap your images and type a short caption – done in under a minute.
Passport Collage Template
Channel vintage travel vibes with the Passport Collage template. It features a faux passport cover with your name and a “Visas” section where you can paste stamps or small photos. The layout uses kraft paper textures and old-world fonts. This template is ideal for multi-country trips – each stamp represents a new destination. Add a photo of your actual passport if you like, but even without it, the design feels authentic. If you love a scrapbook look, this pairs well with a free photo collage story template aesthetic for additional layering.
This template made my Europe trip look like a curated travel diary. My followers thought I had a professional editor!

Vintage Postcard Template
Nothing says travel nostalgia like a vintage postcard. This template replicats the classic postcard format: a large photo on one side and a “Greetings from…” message with lined paper space on the other. The color palette is faded pastels with a grainy overlay. Use it to send a digital postcard to your followers from a specific destination. The back side can include a short story or fun fact about the place. It’s my number one recommendation for a soft girl aesthetic story template because of its dreamy, gentle vibe.
Map Overlay Template
For the planner and the explorer, the Map Overlay template places your photo on a muted background map of your destination. A simple circular cutout reveals the photo, while a location pin and coordinates appear at the bottom. This template is great for road trips or hiking adventures. You can customize the map color to match your brand. Pair it with a luxury aesthetic instagram story template look by using a gold-accented pin and sleek font. It’s minimal yet highly informative.
Polaroid Strip Template
Bring back the instant camera charm with the Polaroid Strip template. It simulates three polaroid photos taped together, each with a white frame and handwritten-style caption. The background is a soft pink or cream. This template is perfect for a chronological story: first photo at the airport, second at the hotel, third at a landmark. It’s also excellent for an aesthetic travel dump story template because you can quickly drop in random vacation photos without worrying about order. The sticky tape effect adds a tactile feel.
Destination Highlight Template
This template is all about spotlighting one iconic destination. A large photo fills most of the screen, with a thin white border and a text overlay at the bottom that says “Destination Highlight” followed by the name. A small line graphic separates the text. The font is modern sans-serif. Use it for major stops on your trip – like the Eiffel Tower or a safari reserve. It’s clean and professional, perfect for a free aesthetic ig story template that still looks high-end. You can rotate colors easily in your editing app.
Flight Board Template
Aviation lovers, this one’s for you. The Flight Board template mimics a departure board at an airport: black background, monospaced green or yellow text, and rows for flight number, destination, gate, and status. You can replace the flight info with your own travel details – like “Trip to Bali, Gate A, On Time.” Add a small photo of your boarding pass or a wing view. This template is a conversation starter and adds a playful touch to your story. It’s especially popular among frequent flyers.
Suitcase Flat Lay Template
The Suitcase Flat Lay template is a top-down view of an open suitcase filled with packing essentials – but you customize it with your own items. The template provides outlines for a camera, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a map. Place your actual products or photos inside the outlines. This is a great “pack with me” style story, especially before a trip. The color scheme is neutral with pops of color from your items. It’s also a fun way to share travel tips and product recommendations.
Adventure Timeline Template
Tell the story of a single adventure from start to finish with the Adventure Timeline template. It has a vertical timeline down the left side, with circles for each step and text beside them. You can include up to six steps: morning hike, summit view, lunch break, etc. Add a small photo thumbnail for each step. This template is perfect for day trips or multi-day excursions. It’s highly engaging because it takes followers on the journey with you. For a cohesive feed, match it with an aesthetic trip story template for the same destination.
Cultural Snapshot Template
Capture local culture with the Cultural Snapshot template. It features a large central photo surrounded by four smaller circles showing details like food, architecture, people, and art. The background is a warm terracotta or mustard yellow. This template encourages you to look beyond the tourist spots and share authentic experiences. Use it for a market visit, a cooking class, or a festival. The circular framing adds a unique visual rhythm. It’s a great way to diversify your travel content and show depth.
