Let’s dive into the list!
1. Packing Preview Template
The trip starts before you even leave—when you’re laying out your outfits and dreaming of adventures. A packing preview template lets you share your curated wardrobe, beauty essentials, and travel gear in a flat-lay style. Use a soft pastel background with circular frames for each item. Add a playful sticker that says “Offline for the weekend” or “Adventure mode: ON.” This template builds hype and gives your followers a peek into your aesthetic. If you prefer a more understated look, try a minimalist aesthetic instagram story template—it works beautifully for packing shots.
2. Road Trip Playlist Template
No weekend trip is complete without a killer playlist. Share your road trip soundtrack with a template that features a vintage cassette tape graphic, a playlist cover art frame, and song titles in a handwritten font. Add a countdown to your next stop or the duration of the drive. This template not only sets the vibe but also invites your followers to save the playlist. For a polished finish, use a clean aesthetic instagram story template as a base—it keeps the focus on the music.
3. Scenic Overlook Template
When you reach a gorgeous viewpoint, you need a template that lets the landscape shine. Use a full-screen photo with a subtle gradient overlay and a thin white frame. Add a location tag, the elevation (if hiking), and a short caption like “Worth every step.” Keep text minimal—this is all about the view. A clean aesthetic instagram story template works perfectly here because it won’t distract from the scenery.
4. Local Eats Template
Food is a huge part of travel. Show off the best local dishes with a template that combines a photo of the meal, a small inset of the restaurant exterior, and a review or rating. Use a warm-toned background (think terracotta or mustard) and a playful script font for the dish name. Add a “Must-try!” badge. This template works great for a brunch spot, food truck, or dinner date. Pair it with an aesthetic planner instagram story template if you want to create a full food itinerary.
5. Sunset Silhouette Template
Sunset shots are a weekend trip staple. This template frames your silhouette against the golden hour sky. Use a dark gradient at the bottom for your silhouette, and add a thin white border. Keep the text simple—maybe “Golden hour gold” or a time stamp. You can also add a small circle for a close-up of the sun. This template is all about mood and minimalism. It’s a classic that never gets old.
6. Cozy Accommodation Template
Whether you’re staying in a boutique hotel, a cabin, or a tent, show off your cozy nest. Use a template with a soft, warm filter and a frame that includes the room name, a little star rating, and a “Home for the weekend” text. Add a polaroid-style border for a nostalgic feel. This template makes your followers feel like they’re right there with you. For a fully customizable version, check out an editable aesthetic story template—you can tweak colors to match your room’s palette.
7. Adventure Activity Template
Hiking, kayaking, biking—whatever adventure you’re on, this template captures the action. Use a dynamic split-screen layout: one side for a wide shot of the activity, the other for a close-up detail (like muddy boots or paddle splashes). Add an arrow or motion line graphic to emphasize movement. The background can be a transparent overlay with a bold sans-serif font for the activity name. It’s energetic and fun.
8. Souvenir Haul Template
At the end of the trip, show off the treasures you brought back. This template uses a grid layout for small items like postcards, keychains, or local snacks. Add a price tag sticker and a “Souvenirs from [place]” header. Use a neutral background to let the colorful items pop. It’s a fun way to remember your finds and get recommendations from followers.
9. Mood Recap Template
After the trip, compile your favorite moments into a mood recap. This template uses a collage layout with 4–6 photos arranged in overlapping polaroid frames. Add a title like “Weekend Mood” and a little summary below. You can use a soft gradient background and playful icons (sun, mountain, coffee). This template is perfect for a single Story that tells the whole story. It’s also a great candidate for an aesthetic planner instagram story template if you want to organize recaps by day.
10. Goodbye Montage Template
Closing out the trip with a heartfelt goodbye. This template features a fading sequence of your best shots (use a swipe-up or animated transition) with a final slide that says “See you next time” or “Until the next adventure.” Add a small plane or car icon. Keep the design clean so the emotions speak volumes. This template wraps everything up nicely and gives your followers a sense of closure. If you want to pre-design this, an editable aesthetic story template lets you drop in your photos and tweak the text.
And there you have it—10 aesthetic weekend trip story templates to make your next getaway unforgettable. From the first packed bag to the final wave goodbye, each template helps you tell your story in a way that’s visually cohesive and deeply personal.
