Your Instagram Story doesn’t have to be just a pretty face. Sometimes you want it to have a little emotional depth, you know? Whether you’re feeling soft, sad, grateful, or fired up, there’s an aesthetic emotional story template that can carry that vibe. I’ve rounded up 10 of my favorite templates that are less about perfect grids and more about real feelings. Each one has its own mood, color palette, and font pairing — all designed to make your audience feel something. Let’s dive into the feels.
The Heartbreak Diaries
We all have those days where you just need to let it out. The Heartbreak Diaries template uses muted tones — think dusty rose, grey, and faded lavender — with a handwritten-style font that feels raw and unfiltered. The layout is simple: a small photo at the top and a large text area below for your thoughts. Add a quote or a single word like “healing” or “let go.” It’s the perfect companion for those late-night posts when you’re processing. If you’re looking for more therapeutic vibes, you might also love the free aesthetic ig story template we shared earlier.
Gratitude Jar
Gratitude is a whole mood, and this template turns it into a warm, earthy aesthetic. Think beige backgrounds, gold accents, and a cozy serif font. The template includes a grid of three boxes where you can type three things you’re grateful for, or you can swap in photos. It’s perfect for a Sunday evening reflection or a monthly check-in. The earthy tones pair beautifully with a cup of coffee or a nature shot. For more inspiration on earthy vibes, check out the aesthetic interior moodboard story collection.
Romantic Blush
Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, a crush, or just self-love, Romantic Blush is the template for you. It’s all about soft pinks, cream, and tiny heart doodles. The text uses a delicate script font, and there’s a space for a photo that takes up the bottom half of the screen — perfect for a candid couple shot or a mirror selfie. The overall feel is dreamy and soft, like a love letter. If you’re planning a big day, you’ll definitely want to check out this aesthetic wedding story template for even more romance.
Nostalgia Trip
Remember the good old days? The Nostalgia Trip template uses a film-grain overlay, sepia tones, and a retro typewriter font. It’s designed for throwback photos and captions like “summer ’19” or “remember when.” The layout has a wide border that mimics a Polaroid, and you can add a date stamp sticker for extra retro points. This one is all about that warm, hazy feeling of looking back. For more ways to compile memories, the aesthetic recap story template is a perfect companion.
Motivation Station
Some days you just need a push, and this template is here to deliver. Motivation Station uses bold sans-serif fonts in black or white on a bright, gradient background (choose from sunset oranges, electric blues, or neon greens). The text is large and takes center stage, with a small icon like a lightning bolt or star in the corner. It’s straightforward and impactful — perfect for gym wins, career milestones, or just a Monday morning pep talk. If you want a sleek, modern take, the modern aesthetic instagram story templates have similar energy.
Squad Goals
Your friends are your chosen family, so give them a story template that matches the energy. Squad Goals uses bright colors (think yellows, pinks, and oranges) with a fun, bouncy font. The layout has multiple photo slots — up to four — arranged in a playful stack. You can add name tags and a group caption like “besties forever.” It’s casual, loud, and full of love. This one pairs well with the aesthetic travel story template if you’re dreaming of a cozy cabin getaway.
Wanderlust Dreaming
When you can’t travel, you can still dream. Wanderlust Dreaming uses deep blues, warm ochre, and a clean sans-serif font. The template features a map-like border and a compass rose icon. The text area is for your next destination or a travel memory. Add a photo of a landscape or a passport stamp. It’s adventurous yet serene.
